What I Think You Ought to Do to Get the Most Out of Life

"...I realized I was clarifying my thinking about what life was all about. For the first time, I really discovered what I believed was important, and the research uncovered a number of things that I already believed but had never been able to articulate." - Zig Ziglar
To start a blog was never really on a list of things I wanted to do. Don't get me wrong, I have passions, and I do enjoy writing; but I've never been interested in marrying the two and becoming some blogger hoping to spread seeds of wisdom across the interwebs. When I read "Goals" by Zig Ziglar and he said to write a book with the title (What I Think You Ought to Do to Get the Most Out of Life) I did a slight eyeroll...everybody thinks they're important enough to write a book, and I really didn't want to be one of those people. I felt this way until I read why he recommended we write a book (see the above quote). Something clicked. I have beliefs. I have passions. I have built businesses. I have created communities. But they've always lived within me, like some secret recipe. I even had somebody one time ask the broad question of "How did you start a fitness studio?" and I truly wasn't sure what to say, I just kind of "did it". To actually put pen to paper, well then it forces me to think out why and how I do things; I'm even betting I'll have much better ideas than the first ones I had years ago. Suddenly, to be creative and simply live my life "off the cuff" seemed lazy. The saying that comes to mind is "You don't truly understand something until you can teach it to a child." Maybe that's how I'm convincing myself to write this. This is a blog to my son, and his kids. God-willing if I have another son/daughter, for them as well. So let's say that you, the reader, are being allowed a peek inside, and again, if something striked a chord with you, all the merrier.
So at the ripe age of 34 years olf what on Earth do I have to teach? I'm not sure, again this blog is an attempt at clarity. I will be trying my best to break down what I've learned. I hope to expand upon, and gain a better understanding of my own principles and methods. I'm of the Christian faith so I'm sure this will have a big influence on how I perceive the world aroud me. I'm sure some entries will be horrendous. Maybe a few will be insightful. Reagardless I plan to grow through this, to learn from my experiences, revisit old ones from new perspectives, and gain introspections on my current life journey in real time. I will never expect this to become a novel, nor should it be. However I do hope that a few posts here and there are enjoyed. I apologize in advance if the thoughts are not complete or messy, but they are mine, and I hope that they are found to be at the very least, inspiring in some unique entertaining manner.
